The Black Commerce Project is an ongoing effort to collect and disseminate data about Black businesses, services, educational institutions and entities. The data collected will be used in several research projects including a searchable database for desired services. In addition, this project will involve the collection of data regarding businesses that have reports of encounters with owners or employees that have exhibited discrimination against any member of a minority or protected group. Through this ongoing effort, we hope to spread awareness of several minority owned businesses and services as well as improve the level of accountability at which consumers hold all corporations and businesses.
